Smooth shank nails are the most common ones.  Used for framing and general construction applications. They can offer enough holding power for most use.

Ring shank nails prevent them from being removed as easily as smooth shank nails. Ring shank nails are often used in softer types of wood where splitting is not an issue.

Joist hanger nails, also metal connector nails are fasteners specially designed for attaching joist hangers or metal hangers to wood studs.  

Hanger joist nails are typically short and heavy gauge nails made of hardened carbon steel Q235 or stainless steel.  It ensures a long serivce for your projects.

Hanger joist nails collated by paper tapes, which helps in keeping them organized and prevents jamming in pneumatic tico nailer, improving the speed and efficiency of work.   These nails must be shot by nail guns, and are specifically crafted to provide increased holding power without fully penetrating the wood, ensuring structural integrity.  The tico nails are usually galvanized or hot dipped galvanized, offering good corrosion protection. 

Shear Strength: Joist hanger nails have a high shear strength to withstand pressure and the weight  placed on the connected structural elements.

Just as other collated nails, joist nails are commonly used in most 30, 31 or 34 degree joist hanger nailers.  Each package includes about 3000 counts paper tape collated nails.  Reduce the frequency of loading into the nailer.
